Founded in 1965, we are the youngest and the largest department in the county. We currently have 60 members and 20 are the ladies auxiliary. BVFD has 5 stations and 32 units. We cover the town of Blockburg, Cherry Ridge, Cooper, Glade Farms, and Hazelwood. We have 1 airport and a lake to cover in our district. All FFs are Hazmat certified, ALS Paramedics, Engineers, and are able to drive a tiller. Our Color scheme is all white with a black stripe and blue and black with a black stripe. We cover Interstate 68, several apartment complexes, 10 subdivisions, USP Hazlewood [ 1 High Security Federal Prison (Male), 1 Secure Female Facility, 1 Minimum Security Prison Camp], a small industrial area, a plaza, and a large amount of forest. We are located in the northern end of the county and cover 1/3 of the county. More information is on the website.
